NOTICE OF ANNUAL ELECTION
DECEMBER 9, 2008
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Annual Election of Officers in the Walworth Fire District No. 1 situated in the Town of Walworth, Wayne County, New York, will be held on the 9th day of December, 2008 to elect one (1) Fire Commissioner for a term of five (5) years, to elect one (1) Fire Commissioner for a term of one(1) year, to elect one (1) Secretary/Treasurer for a term of three (3) years; such terms to commence on January 1, 2009. All District Officers must be resident electors in the Walworth Fire District No. 1 at the time of his/her election as well as throughout the term of his/her office.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that such election will be held at the Walworth Fire Hall located at 2178 Church Street, in the Town of Walworth, New York, on the 9th day of December, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., prevailing time, during which time the polls will remain open for the receipt of ballots. All duly registered residents of the Walworth Fire District No. 1 are eligible to vote at this election.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that petitions nominating candidates for office must be filed with the Secretary of the Fire District at least twenty (20) days prior to December 9, 2008, to wit: on or before November 19, 2008. Each petition shall be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified registered electors of Walworth Fire District No. 1. Petitions for candidacy may be mailed to the Secretary at the following address: Walworth Fire District No. 1, Box 179, Walworth, New York 14568. (Petitions sent by mail must arrive by November 19, 2008.)
